Hi! Ranya was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and raised in the Bronx, New York. She is an Anthropology Ph.D. student exploring the relationship between community gardens/farms and solidarity. As an undergraduate at Kalamazoo College, she majored in Anthropology and Sociology and minored in Political Science. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring nature, doing yoga, learning about herbs (relationship between people and plants), and watching (funny) movies.
