Anthony joined the Department of Human Development in 2011, and serves as the director of the Program for Research on Youth Development and Engagement as well as director of the Purpose and Identity Processes Laboratory. His interests focus on how youth find a sense of purpose in life and racial identity. Anthony teaches courses on adolescent development, emerging adult transitions, and identity processes. Prior to coming to Cornell, Anthony received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Ph.D. in Psychology from Florida International University. He completed his post-doctoral training at the University of Notre Dame. Anthony is originally from North Carolina, and during basketball season, cheers just as loudly for UNC as he does against Duke.
