Graduate Resident Fellow
Cosmas is a Candidate for the Doctor of the Science of Law (JSD) at Cornell University Law School. Prior to Cornell, he had practiced law in Nigeria as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Nigerian Supreme Court. Equally he volunteered in Community development efforts in South-Eastern Nigeria where he was born and raised. A combination of these experiences has illustrated to him the concerns and nuanced nature of social issues in a pluralistic society.
Cosmas has also attended professional courses in International law at the Hague Academy of International Law – the Hague Netherlands. His thesis is on Transitional Justice – exploring and interrogating the mechanisms for peace building, human rights protection, democratization, institutional reforms, and regeneration of community cohesion in fragile cum post-conflict societies.
He is enthusiastic about life, music, and creative writing. The splendor of Ithaca’s natural environment and the diversity of Cornell’s community life has further made him discover a new hobby – the art of photography!
