As a former track and field thrower, Funmi has always been interested in understanding exercise and how joint disease and injury affects motion. Here at Cornell, she is doing just that! She is a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering in Professor Marjolein van der Meulen's lab, where she studies the relationship between osteoarthritis and joint motion. In 2011, she graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with B.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Professional Writing. While she is originally from Nigeria, she is also a New Englander, hailing from Medfield, Massachusetts.
Outside of work, Funmi loves weightlifting, watching Nigerian movies, traveling, hanging out with friends, and of course watching her favorite football team win super bowls (Go Pats!).
