Amanda Carreiro is a local Ithacan who has traveled extensively throughout the United States and lived in Florida and California. After several years away from Ithaca, the rolling hills, farmland and beautiful gorges of upstate NY lured her back to Ithaca and to Cornell.

She completed her academic work in Human Development and Family Studies in 1994, directed an after school program at a local elementary school for two years, then returned to Cornell as a staff member in 1996. From 1996 to 2006 Amanda worked with international graduate students living on campus then joined the Becker House team as Assistant Dean in the summer of 2006.

For over twenty years Amanda competed in a variety of obscure Frisbee sports and for many years she coached the Cornell women's Ultimate Frisbee team. While retired from competition and coaching, she continues to organize tournaments and promote Frisbee sports in her spare time.

Amanda lives at Becker House with her four year old son, Julien and her dog Duncan. They enjoy trips to the Farmer's Market, hiking in the gorges or just playing at home.

Debbie started her administrative career with Cornell in Campus Life in 1995. She is looking forward to continuing her work with students, faculty and staff at Becker House.

Debbie has lived along the Seneca Lake wine country trail and the Finger Lakes National Forest all her life. She enjoys many outdoor activites and spending time with family and friends. 

Eileen Hughes was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to the Finger Lakes Region in 1973 where, while running organic farms (a radical idea at the time), she began her love affair with food and the farmers of upstate New York . She began at the Kosmos, a communally run natural foods Restaurant, pre-dating the now famous Moosewood restaurant.

From there, Eileen moved next door to the Rongovian Embassy restaurant and learned about Tex Mex cuisine. After a tour of other kitchens she attended the Culinary Institute of America.

In 1993 Eileen began her career with Cornell Dining and was appointed first female Executive Chef at Cornell in 1995. Her passions are family, especially her two grandsons, music thanks to her musician husband, food and community.
