City and Regional Planning
Linda Shi is Assistant Professor in the Department of City and Regional Planning. Her research concerns how to plan for an urban climate transition that improves environmental sustainability and social justice. She assesses how urban land politics – in the form of property rights regimes, fiscal land commodification, land use and natural resource governance – shape climate vulnerability and adaptation. She comes at these issues having worked on watershed restoration, water and sanitation, and development planning in the United States, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. She has degrees in urban planning and environmental management from Yale, Harvard, and MIT.
