Hi! My name is Rouzbeh, and I grew up in the Los Angeles area. I am earning a PhD in Human Behavior and Design, and my research focuses on how the physical environment influences wellbeing. I tackle specific questions on how sustainable land-use development can mitigate climate risk and positively influence human health/wellbeing over the life course.
I appreciate learning about where people grew up and how their neighborhood settings have shaped them. Personally, I remember swimming at a local YMCA when I was younger. My era at the Y led me to play water polo in high school, undergrad, and now in grad school playing for the club team- let me know if you’re interested in joining! My current favorite place to swim is Montrose Beach, Chicago, but I’m always looking out for new spots. Besides swimming, my second favorite thing is food. I love creating and trying cuisines from different cultures. I am ethnically Persian/Iranian American, and my specialty is grilling kabobs and tomatoes in the summertime.
