Professor
Department of Classics
I’m a professor in the Classics department, where I teach and research about ancient Greek and Roman science and technology like medicine, mathematics, astronomy, and mechanics. Right now I am writing a book about the cognitive science of ancient scientific practices, and looking forward to teaching my new classes this year. I live with my husband Luis and our cat Ptolemy; Luis works in cleantech policy but Ptolemy so far seems to have no interest in getting a job. I love cooking, playing video games, and gardening, particularly growing native plants for pollinators.
